My name is Clement and I'm artistic director of Cie 14:20 a dance cie.
In our show we use a lot of video that are often combined with old Catoptric processes .

We are looking for a solution to densify the black depth of the projected images. Indeed when one projects with a video projector black is more gray and black but relatively light although the projector is a high contrast DLP TRI.

I attached the image that best explains the phenomenon.

We try to get a quality black by putting a gelatin (210) neutral but it reduces the brightness ...

I imagined there might be an optical filter such that we could pose for the video projector that can increase the contrast of the image without altering its brightness, which would block light below a threshold brightness.

Does anyone think it can work?
Has someone already tried it or knows other ways to improve the black without affecting the brightness and colorimetry of images ...?

Thank you in advance for your help.

    this is a common problem.
you have the brightness up too high.
    turn it down.
if your image isn't bright enough you need a more powerful projector.
