New Korg Kaptivator

    Hmmm, looks like the Kaptivator is the closest VJHW thing for RebelleLev's quest... Tho 2.5k away hehehe ;)

    They're everywhere in Tokyo. Two of the music shops (Ishiibashi and Key Music) down the road from my house have them. Price is 198,000 yen - just over $2000.

    I played with one, it's nice, very compact. No way of getting clips into it other than the DV port however.

    Both shops also have the CG8.

    However, all the Korg gear is hooked up together in the Korg department, and the Roland gear is all in the Roland department...

    one is now available for demo and hire at deepvisual
    along with CG8, DVJ-X1, kaoss pad entrancer, X4, V4, etc etc.

    i doubt that this kits have the same GPU power as current gfx cards. however, they probably fully use the hardware potential available (while most VJ apps don't use GPU power at all).

    Reckon its on our to get list, less hassle than a seperate playout box and hopefully more stable. Looks like a nice addition to the every expanding kit list.

    Cheapest UK price I've seen is ?1499, wont replace my computers but I always love adding a new source to the mix. At this rate I'll need a third V4
