The 5th annual Cairns Winter Solstice Celebration & Sustainable Lifestyle Gathering is a 4 day / 3 night outback camping adventure, that will be held from June 18-21, 2010 on the Tablelands, 3.5 hrs drive from Cairns.

This year we have over 100 local, National & International Producers, Dj’s & bands, vjs performing over our 5 stages, The Winter Solstice Festival musical line-up has something for everyone & is not just about the music, we offer a huge array of different forms of entertainment from around the globe, staged in the great Aussie Outback....

In the expanse of the Australian outdoor festival culture, Winter Solstice Lifestyle Gathering holds a special place in the hearts and minds of punters from not only Cairns, but from around the country and indeed the globe as well. The annual event, in its fourth year in 2009, was one of the region’s biggest and most creative festivals, attracting well over a hundred acts, performers, healers and artists over four days and three nights in the rugged beauty of the Atherton Tablelands. The thing about Winter Solstice is that it’s much more than a Far North Queensland event, instead being one of Australia’s premier alternative life style festivals with a strong focus on entertainment for all the ages and a holistic festival experience. Thousands of punters have been known to travel from interstate and overseas just to attend, proving it’s not only one of the region’s top music and arts events, but a global tourism drawcard as well. With a broad range of musical styles – from electronic music to live bands and solo acts – as well as roving performers, fire shows, healing areas, sustainability exhibitions and market stalls, Winter Solstice definitely deserves its spot as the winner of the Best Festival in the timeOUT Awards 2009.

He played in Cairns only few months ago, great artist.. He just released a track on my friends Cairns based label - Open Records (www.open-records.net) the EP is called
